Our Surgeons
Derek Goodisson
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Derek is the principal surgeon in the region for head and neck cancer, facial deformity surgery both accident-related, congenital and oral surgery. He also has a sub-speciality interest in skin cancer management. Derek is an active member of a number of College committees, including Australia and New Zealand Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (ANZAOMS) and the British equivalent (BAOMS). He is an AOCMF Faculty member and works nationally on the Dental Council and Medical Council of New Zealand advisory panels.
Lloyd Peterson
Doctor
Dr Lloyd Peterson graduated from Otago University in 1991. He is a fellow of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia, who works full time in the skin cancer field both in diagnosis and surgical management.
Lynda Croft
Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
Dr Lynda Croft is an experienced obstetrician & gynaecologist in Hastings who has had 17 years of experience in Hawke's Bay in the public and private sectors. Prior to this, she worked in the UK in central London, and also in Plymouth.
Justin Pratt
Doctor
Dr Justin Pratt grew up in Hawke’s Bay and studied Medicine at the University of Otago in Dunedin with postgraduate study in the UK and Australia. His professional area of interest is in Skin Cancer diagnosis and surgery and he trained under and is an Accredited Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.
David Gardner
Doctor
David is a consultant rheumatologist and general physician primarily based at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Hastings. Originally from rural Scotland, he trained at The University of Aberdeen before moving to New Zealand in 2002. After completing specialist training David and his family returned to Hawke’s Bay in 2012
